Mom actually had a check up a couple of weeks before also. This was at an alternative hospital which Daddy decided would be give out better service. The reason being this place has recently had a new maternity ward built a couple of years back. With our previous deal we were being transfered between 3 or 4 locations for scans and tests. The new place we're attending now is located nearer Dad's hometown too, but the original hospital was OK and the appointment card from there was neat - pretty colors... (Dad's fussy and notices stuff like this cos he's a designer).

There was another routine testing just before now. A week before the current scan we got a phone call from the hospital saying Mommy had an infection. Not knowing exactly the full details Dad rushed to get the medicine and still at the pharmacy they didn't tell. Of course we were a lil bit worried.

Anyways the infection has cleared up now - hormones were probably the cause.

This morning I went to the local store/gas station to get some bread and Marmite spread. I was speaking with Kelly who works there and Sharon, the manageress. She asked after Emma because she used to work there herself and left due to the pregnancy. I told her the baby's a boy and that we are naming him Brooklyn.

She said, "what after Beckham?". I didn't hear her at first so I said Brooklyn after NYCity. She told me that this is what Victoria Adams "Posh Spice" (Spice Girls) and David Beckham, a famous English soccer player had named their boy born yesterday. They told me it was on the front page of many newspapers out on the stand so I went to check. There I saw headlines printed all about "baby brooklyn" (second name Joseph). Totally shocked!! I ran back and told Emma.

*Now all you know that we have the ORIGINAL BK BABY. We named him when I was at Gal's place on the phone to my Baby's Mom back in January. Whether it was a boy or a girl the name was always that already. Yo anyhows when I'm in BKNY I don't stay at no hotel y'all. Up step the Brooklyn Blaze, Brooklyn Chase... it's up to you - keep choosing.

1st WEEK OF 1999:
They scared us - we were told that there was a high-risk of downs syndrome
(a 1 in 188 chance / the norm for 19 year-old moms-to-be is around 1-2000).

Because of this Mom (with Me inside her) didn't go with Dad to USA
for Julie's and Mike's Wedding in LI.
She had an amniosentesis to find out for sure.

NOW WE KNOW EVERYTHING IS FINE -
TESTS SHOW NORMALITY.
OUR BABY IS A BOY!
